Despite many benefits the blockchain industry offers, its landscape remains male-dominated. Women are largely underrepresented in the blockchain space, which is why it's important to highlight the contributions of women in the field.

However, there are many women who are making significant strides in the industry. Women are bringing new perspectives and ideas to the table, and are proving to be just as capable as their male counterparts. Women are not only contributing to the development of blockchain technology, they are also breaking through the glass ceiling and taking on leadership roles.

One such example is Tal Navarro, founder of WinWeb3. We interviewed Tal Navarro to understand how women are realising themselves in the blockchain industry.

A little bit about Tal Navarro

Tal Navarro is a serial entrepreneur, international digital marketing & web3 consultant & speaker, and owner & CEO of Social Lady digital marketing & web3 agency. She is also the founder of the non-profit WINWEB3.io, which uses the blockchain to fund women in need.

Navarro is one of the most influential personalities and pioneers in the digital world in Israel, an expert in the field since 2006 and one of the first people in the country to understand and use social media marketing channels. Navarro was subsequently recognised by Forbes magazine as one of Israel's digital thought leaders and was interviewed as one of the 40 under 40 successful leaders in her industry.

  • What do you think women contribute to the blockchain industry?

TN: Women have become increasingly involved in the blockchain industry in recent years, and I think that's great because it brings diverse perspectives and skills to the field. The field has historically been known to be male-dominated, and as a woman, I know that more and more women getting involved will lead to inclusive decision-making and better outcomes for everyone.

A lot of women that I know of,  have been advocating for the use of blockchain technology to address social issues such as financial inclusion, supply chain transparency, and voting rights. As a mother, I feel like multitasking skills are evolving and that brings faster results, better execution for tasks and specially, loads of compassion while doing anything at all.

  • Are there areas of blockchain in which women are leading the way?

TN: I think women can lead in any area, there are no specific areas where they lead more or less. I think in any area or field where men can lead, women can lead. Every woman has a unique skill set and is capable of doing things no less well than men, in many cases. If you have a woman as part of the team, or as part of the planning and thinking process of projects or processes, and if you have women on the execution side of things, they might end up producing better results.

  • Can you give an example of a successful blockchain project created by a woman?

TN: There are so many of them. WOW, Women rise, Flower Girls, Boss Beauties, Women and Weapon and there are so many others.

  • Tell us about WinWeb3. What is it aimed at?

TN: WIN is a non-profit organisation dedicated to helping women in need who live in war zones and face daily struggles. At WIN, we believe in empowering women by providing them with financial resources and opportunities to showcase their skills and talents. Our mission is to support women in need by selling their crafts on our marketplace, giving them the means to support themselves and their families. We work directly with charities that support women in need, providing them with the tools and resources they need to create beautiful handmade crafts. These crafts are then sold on our marketplace, with the proceeds going directly back to the women who made them. By selling their crafts on our platform, these women not only earn a living, but also gain a sense of pride and accomplishment. In addition to our marketplace, we also work with artists who create art for the cause. These artists donate a portion of their proceeds to WIN, helping us to continue our important work supporting women in need.

Through our marketplace and partnerships with artists, we aim to create a sustainable source of income for women who need it, while raising awareness of the challenges they face on a daily basis. We invite you to join us in our efforts to empower and support women and make a positive difference in the world.

Conclusion

The blockchain industry has the potential to revolutionise many different industries, and women are playing a key role in its development. By promoting diversity and inclusion in blockchain, we can create a more innovative and successful industry. It is important that we continue to highlight the contributions of women in this field, and work to break down the barriers that prevent them from reaching their full potential.
