# Whatever-20 Mania Takes Over the Cryptocurrency Market

The convenience of numerous Bitcoin clones is that they allow one to easily replicate the most simple and trendy solutions appearing in the original network. Just a couple of weeks ago, the whole crypto Twitter discussed the [Bitcoin network's other congestion](https://www.metatalks.ai/if-therere-frogs-and-dicks-so-be-it-whats-going-on-with-bitcoin/) and blockchain clogging with arbitrary files, including [JSON with memecoins](https://www.metatalks.ai/bullish-on-memecoins-gambling/) "emission," predicting virtually another civil war for the Bitcoin community.

But now, when Bitcoin fees are appearing to [return to the late times' norm](https://blockchair.com/bitcoin/charts/average-transaction-fee-usd?ref=metatalks.ai), media are full of headlines about a spike [in Litecoin transactions](https://decrypt.co/140608/litecoin-experiences-highest-blockchain-activity-thanks-to-ordinals?ref=metatalks.ai) count due to the minting of LTC-20 tokens ([here's a thread](https://twitter.com/Clemhate2/status/1656035760108126223?ref=metatalks.ai) on how to buy them) or [in Dogecoin](https://www.theblock.co/post/231128/tokens-built-on-dogecoin-results-in-all-time-high-in-daily-transactions?ref=metatalks.ai) because of – yeah, that's right! – [DRC-20 tokens](https://twitter.com/dogewow%5Fclub/status/1655843550746099712?ref=metatalks.ai).

But first, let 'em honestly tell you about some cons of that "tokens":

So in a somewhat post-ironic way, we now have memecoin-based memecoins, and I'm sure that [$Pepe](https://twitter.com/search?q=%2524PEPE&ref=metatalks.ai) fans would really appreciate it. But in the old and boring Dogecoin community, there're some critics, arguing that the [$Doge](https://twitter.com/search?q=%2524DOGE&ref=metatalks.ai) folks "should stop this shameless hype" and return to the clear "Satoru Nakamoto vision," as there's "no shit is needed." So the depth of copying, in this case, is pretty impressive, of course:

I can't imagine, honestly, but maybe it's just a lack of imagination; I don't know.
