# Next Phase of Notcoin: Game Token to Launch on April 20 Alongside Bitcoin Halving

Viral Telegram-based clicker game [Notcoin](https://twitter.com/thenotcoin?ref=metatalks.ai) ended its “mining phase” and is gearing up for the next target date: the [$NOT](https://twitter.com/search?q=%24NOT&ref=metatalks.ai) token rollout [scheduled](https://twitter.com/thenotcoin/status/1775192413956460959?ref=metatalks.ai) for April 20\. This date coincides with the [Bitcoin halving](https://www.metatalks.ai/one-month-to-halving-with-miners-and-whales-brace-for-volatility/)so that it will be an extra-busy day for the crypto world.

[Open Builders](https://twitter.com/open%5Fbuilders?ref=metatalks.ai), the team behind [Notcoin](https://twitter.com/thenotcoin?ref=metatalks.ai), aims to debut its [$NOT](https://twitter.com/search?q=%24NOT&ref=metatalks.ai) token on [The Open Network](https://twitter.com/ton%5Fblockchain?ref=metatalks.ai) ([$TON](https://twitter.com/search?q=%24TON&ref=metatalks.ai)) on April 20—rather with a [meme number](https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/events/420?ref=metatalks.ai) in mind, but also on the date that the Bitcoin halving is currently [set to occur](https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/bitcoin/bitcoin-halving?ref=metatalks.ai).

Within the Telegram-based game, players could "mine" or earn in-game Notcoins by tapping on a virtual coin, accumulating in-game currency that will eventually be converted into on-chain, tradable tokens ([read here](https://decrypt.co/resources/what-is-notcoin-telegram-based-game-airdrop?ref=metatalks.ai) for more details). Since its public launch in January, Notcoin has attracted over 35 million players, with a daily active user count peak of over 6 million.

The gameplay is currently paused ahead of the upcoming token launch. But on April 20, the coin-tapping gameplay will resume with some significant [ecosystem changes](https://decrypt.co/225034/notcoin-telegram-game-return-after-token-launch-big-changes?ref=metatalks.ai) and a new rewards model.

No additional tokens will be minted post-launch as the pre-launch mining process is completed. When the launch occurs, the in-game coins will be swapped for non-crypto tokens on The Open Network.

Users, however, can already speculate on the price of the [$NOT](https://twitter.com/search?q=%24NOT&ref=metatalks.ai) token, as pre-market trading via NFT vouchers [was launched in March](https://decrypt.co/220711/telegram-game-notcoin-launches-pre-market-trading-ahead-airdrop?ref=metatalks.ai). Heavy players who accumulated at least 10 million in-game coins could convert their holdings into NFTs on The Open Network. These NFTs can be traded and will eventually be exchangeable for the on-chain token.

[As of early April](https://decrypt.co/224452/notcoin-game-token-launch-april-20-bitcoin-halving?ref=metatalks.ai), an NFT voucher for 10 million in-game coins typically trades for about $52 worth of Toncoin (TON) on the [GetGems marketplace](https://getgems.io/notcoin?ref=metatalks.ai).
