# Google launches Google Pics, an AI image tool built into Workspace

[**Google Pics**](https://blog.google/products-and-platforms/products/workspace/google-pics/?ref=metatalks.ai) **runs on the company’s Nano Banana image model, arrives both as a standalone app and inside Docs and Slides, and is pointed at the everyday poster and social-post work Canva and Adobe Express handle.**

The tool can be tried at [pics.new](https://pics.new/?ref=metatalks.ai). What it offers beyond a chatbot is control after the image exists: a single object can be isolated and changed without touching the rest of the frame, text baked into a picture can be rewritten or translated with its typeface and layout intact, and written notes pinned to particular areas ask for several targeted edits in one pass.

A single prompt returns several versions to choose between. A settled one can be enlarged to 2K or 4K, cropped in short order to web, social or print sizes, and shared for several people to edit at once.

Testers had it after Google I/O in May. The wider rollout arrives in stages over the coming weeks, for Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers, the Google AI Pro for Education plan, and most Workspace business customers.
